Borderlands 2 is a thrilling action RPG that combines fast-paced shooting with deep loot mechanics, earning an impressive AI Community Rating of 87.34%. Set on the unpredictable planet of Pandora, you play as one of four unique Vault Hunters, each with distinct abilities, on a quest for revenge against the villainous Handsome Jack. The game shines with its dynamic co-op gameplay, allowing seamless drop-in/drop-out multiplayer, and a staggering variety of procedurally generated weapons and gear. Fans praise its humor, replayability, and engaging story, but some note repetitive gameplay and unbalanced enemy scaling for solo players. While the loot system is a highlight, improvements to fast travel and mission variety could elevate the experience. If you love chaotic co-op, endless loot, and a quirky narrative, Borderlands 2 is a must-play.
Kill things to collect guns. Collect guns to kill things. If this sounds like you're kind of thing, then what are you waiting for? Refreshingly replayable, very sytlish, great multiplayer, I mean it when I say I can't think of anything wrong with this game.
Possible best part of Borderlands franchise by now, even after the release of third installment. The best story and charismatic antagonist, wonderful playable characters and big and diverse DLC's - that all make a game wonderful and fun to play. Game mechanics and loot drop are not as good as in third part but still good. Highly recommend to buy as part of Handsome collection + Commander Lilith. Game is still actual for 2020 and fun to play.

One of the greatest games of all time, no question Only have a few amount of hours on this account But I have over three thousand hours on ps four and my older steam accounts Without a doubt, one of the most replayable games of all time Everyone deserves to play this game
Bought the game when it originally came out for PS3 in 2012. Loved if then. Bought the Pandora's Box collection all these years later, and the game is still awesome now in 2024. So awesome, I am writing my first Steam review haha If you have never played Borderlands (1), starting at 2 is a probably one of the best introductions to the Borderlands series. The overall story for Borderlands 2 is great - it has its highs and lows, its funny moments and serious moments. The game play is fun and so many build opportunities for each of the playable characters. Sooooo many weapons - and a lot of unique weapons. Yes, there are meta/popular weapons, shields, and accessories for each build, but you can get away with playing with most any weapon as long as it deals the specific damage type you need for an enemy. I did buy the Pandora's Box collection - which comes with all the DLC for the game. If you are playing simply for the purposes of understanding the story, I would highly recommend playing the Normal play through and the Tiny Tina's DLC. If you are playing to grind out your character, the real grind doesn't start til you beat play through 3 (Ultimate Vault Hunter mode) and are trying to reach OP level 10. You can most definitely beat this game solo - so if you are a solo-player, there is no part of this game that requires the help of others. Gaming can be funner with friends - so if you have friends playing different characters, it is fun to see all the special abilities in use as you melt through harder enemies. Overall; if you are looking for a looter-shooter with good story and good game play, then Borderlands 2 will definitely scratch that itch.
Gearbox has disabled features of existing DLC for those not willing to continue buying new DLC. I cannot recommend purchasing anything they release. If you didn't buy the Commander Lilith DLC (or get it in the short period of time it was free), and had previously bought the Raid on Digistruct Peak DLC, the primary content unlocked by Digistruct Peak (namely the ability to turn on OP levels and obtain loot at lv73+) is turned off. At this point the only ways to get that content back are (a) reward Gearbox for this bullshit by shelling out $15 for Commander Lilith, with no guarantee they won't do this again, (b) hope they make Commander Lilith free again, or (c) downgrade to the version of the game before Commander Lilith was released, which is somewhat technical and very error-prone and prevents you from playing with anyone who hasn't also done that.
I have played this game for years on older pcs I've owned. But cannot play it anymore. It always crashes and it seems it has no fixes. My specs are: i7 13700k rtx 4070ti 32gb ddr4 ram running on win11 on a 2.5k ultrawide monitor
I absolutely love this game. When it was given away on Epic Games, I grabbed the DLC. I’ve played through it a couple of times and decided to complete my Borderlands collection on Steam. And you know what? Not all the DLCs are available for the Ukrainian region. You buy the Pandora Pack, but you don’t get all the content for the two Borderlands games. It's disappointing. I kindly ask the developers to fix this, as the money is spent, Borderlands is loved, but I can't enjoy the full experience.
I've given this game a chance on multiple occasions. I just can't find the appeal that makes so many tote it to be so great. I find the movement is slow and floaty and gunplay unsatisfactory. As I see it the RPG and FPS elements bring out the worst in one another. Hitting a target not only relies on my ability to aim at it but also on the gun's accuracy stat, lest it randomly bloom the bullet waywards. A skill issue perhaps but one that makes this game wholly unenjoyable.
Fresh install. No cross-play between Linux and Windows due to version mismatch. Painful, hacky workarounds are available in the discussion threads, but I'm not going to install any executables from someone's OneDrive/GDrive. Do better, Steam.
