Duck Game is a chaotic, fast-paced action game set in the futuristic year of 1984, where ducks battle for glory using an arsenal of quirky weapons like Shotguns, Net Guns, and even Saxophones. With an impressive AI Community Rating of 93.25%, this indie gem offers both local and online multiplayer for 2 to 8 players, plus a single-player challenge mode. Fans love its frantic gameplay, creative weapon variety, and couch-combat fun, calling it a must-play for parties. However, some players note the online lobbies can feel empty, and the controls may feel janky for newcomers. Despite minor flaws, Duck Game’s charm lies in its unpredictability and humor, making it a top choice for those seeking quick, laugh-out-loud sessions with friends. Dive into the madness and see why it’s a fan favorite!
There have been rumours that Adult Swim games are going to get delisted soon. Duck game is one of the few games in this list worth buying. Its a chaotic party game that is action packed. The only bad thing I have to say is that its fairly old and nowadays there are other games that do what Duck Game does but better. Still its a game worth having if you can find 1 or 2 people to play with.
(UPDATE) i am genuinely so relieved to hear that the rights to this game have been given back to Landon, this is without a doubt one of the best and such fun multiplayer games i’ve ever played and it warms my heart to see it still live, get it for yourself and your friends, you all will have the time of your life.
I just realized, bordering on too late, that I had never reviewed Duck Game. This game is, unequivocally, the best couch competitive game I've ever played in my life. It's easy and fast enough for friends who aren't really great at gaming to continue playing even if they're getting destroyed by more skilled players, it's varied, it's so wildly "pick-up-and-play", you can hook it up and play a few rounds with barely any setup. It's the only game that we love enough to have set up on a projector outside to play around a fire on some summer nights. We played it over the internet during covid, and countless hours between. Now for the editorial part. WB Discovery is reportedly pulling this game among many others as part of their ever-increasing desire to make wonderful things disappear to see the line go up. It's unconscionable. Give the dev full rights to their game. It's too wonderful to make disappear.
A frantic callback to when games were all about mashing buttons in a wild frenzy trying to chainsaw your duck-friends in a digital version of Thunderdome!
"Hey, we should try Duck Game out!" Said my slightly deranged survival crafting buddy during one of our traditional Swedish Fika times. "Duck Game?" I added with a puzzled expression while thinking instantly of the old NES classic Duck Hunt. I was not that far away, but instead of hunting ducks with guns, ducks hunt each other with guns, grenades, chainsaws, and jetpacks.. Duck Game is simply amazing. Its delightful mix of brilliant gameplay mixed with pure anarchy really blossoms in the short and unrelenting matches that offer tons upon tons of cinematic moments. If you have four friends, get them all a copy and spend an evening quaking and hacking through each other with a blatant arsenal of weapons and equipment. You have to be a soulless husk to not find enjoyment in this blatant duck on duck combat! Duck Game is pure awesome!
My friends got into two games in late middle school/early high school. Duck game and smash brothers (for the wii u, yuck). Smash eventually won out because duck game didn't have support for more than 4 players at the time, but whenever we'd have <= 4 people it could go either way. I got in to a lot of local multiplayer games back then, but I don't really see any of them the way I see duck game now. I'm talking feeling a lil melancholy listening to the (fantastic) soundtrack, we made some great memories and I think in part it is due to how fantastic and special duck game is as a game. There's a weird little interaction for everything, it's clear that a lot of love and thought went into every aspect. It's also one of those games with a really high skill ceiling where you can be a nerd and get really good at it and play against other nerds online, but I don't have it in me anymore. I can still dog most of my friends when we play though so that's something. Anywho yeah I'd recommend it if you have friends to play with.
