Why doesn't this game have a steam workshop? Seriously people, this game came all the way from a little flash project to a fleshed out community. It is something beautiful to see how many mods people are making for it, but there's no official support for modding, so if you want to play mods, it's either scratch browser clones, or suspicious download links. Please "So Far So Good" , consider this. You want children to learn to make songs, and they really are. Create a workshop and the value of your game will go through the roof and beyond.
For new people who never played Incredibox before or played it in Flash era, they might see this game as boring, repeating the same sounds and listening it over and over, and not much options, only 9 version available with chance of new one once per year. but in my opinion this game is incredible (pun intended) but Im following progress of this game for years, community really became bigger after v8 Dystopia got released, and community is keeping this game alive and less boring with new fan-made content, making mods adding new versions, or animations, Incredibox is the game that inspirited a lot of people to make music, designs and animations and quality of official Incredibox content is masterpiece and very hard to recreate, so if you are planning to buy this game and check out, I really recommend you to check out the community content before thinking this game is boring and giving negative opinion. developers really should give a chance and open workshop for this game, and giving easier access to modding the game, then buying the steam version would be more worth it.
such a fun little game! remembered playing a free version of this way back and was happy to see it still receiving awesome updates. the songs are all well-crafted and creating own mixes is a blast. if the game had like a workshop or something for custom sounds, this game'd be a solid 12/10, however currently has to sit at a comfy 10/10.

You can't edit the sounds in any way, shape, or form so therefore you really can't "create your own music" at all. it's just an on/off switch simulator. I truly have no idea why this has Overwhelmingly Positive reviews.
I almost feel bad for the negative review but it is deserved. Incredibox was a fun novelty synth that was free online like 10 years ago. It is still free online with most of the sound sets available. It has not improved much since. If you feel nostalgic for this game, just play that. Paying money for this was a waste.
While I find it pretty cool, it lacks a sense of freedom, or mixing different styles together. Once you make a song, the 'instruments' sound repetitive. With other song makers like FL Studio and Beepbox, there's a lot of stuff to make sure that doesn't happen. But it feels like a play and put down game. You make a sound with all the styles, and then that's it. I do think there can be more potential, though. I had fun making my first songs, and I really liked it. But it was too limited. I wanted to make a potential theme for my horror stories that I've been writing, but none of them seemed like they'd be in a horror movie. If you care about your money, I think you should just play the demo for now.
NOT ROYALTY FREE! I got the game as a meme gift from my friend, and I still feel scamed. At first I thought i migth not be that bad, when I used the free version (that I feel like you should play if you want the game, not the payed one) it seemed prety good. Well, after it was already purchesed and after a lot of diging, turns out the music you make is not royalty free! Making royalty free music was the only reason I didnt hate it from the beging. I feel like the game is trying to HIDE this fact, took ages for me to find anything about that. Also I do get that the songs you can make are pretty limmited which would make it weird if you could just say it's your own, but I still feel the game is trying to misslead people and should make it clear the songs you make are not yours. There isnt even that much content here that isnt in the free online version for being $5. DON'T BUY THIS GAME!
I wouldn't recommend buying this because you can experience it online for free. not only the game but the tracks too. It's good, but it feels like a waste of money now that I know that a free version was around the corner anyway.
