Resident Evil 4 Remake is one of the top tier games created by Capcom other than Resident Evil 7 Biohazard. Even the Original RE4 was revolutionary for it's time. As a guy who played the original, it's safe to say that RE4R is a well baked apple pie. Especially the 3 in 1 effort they put in for recreating or more like renovating ashley is really worth mentioning. The graphics, soundtracks, new character models, cinematics etc...RE Engine nailed it. In terms of gameplay, it's truly a chef's kiss. Parrying was so damn satisfying and so is Leon's stun kicks. Weapon varieties are also great. Speakin of story, pretty much everyone knows the story since it's a remake. But in general it has an amazing and compelling story. RE4 has the longest main campaign in all of RE franchise. The Separate Ways DLC is on par with the title. It's what Capcom always does, nothing surprising. It's exceptional as it should be. As we know it's the same DLC as in the original. In conclusion, The Original was heaven and so is the Remake. Nothing much to say. Btw the game is so rewarding, the more playthroughs you do the more rewards you get. Hands down to the best RE game, Simple and straight 10/10.

Positive

I'd almost call this a perfect remake, the modernized combat is extremely satisfying and the game looks gorgeous. My only nitpick is some voice lines missing from the original as well as cut scenes from the original as well. The new direction works incredibly well though and i can see why they did it to create a more similar vibe to the newer installments in the franchise. But it did kinda hurt seeing some of those goofy moments from the original not be in the remake. Still insanely good game and definitely deserves to be recommended.

• I understand why the developers made certain changes, and I think they work incredibly well to modernize the game.
• I feel a bit hurt that some of the goofy moments from the original game were not included in the remake, as they added charm to the original.
• I believe the game is still insanely good overall, and I highly recommend it despite the minor shortcomings.
• I consider this remake to be almost perfect, as it successfully modernizes the original while retaining its core appeal.
• I think the game deserves to be recommended, as it offers a fantastic experience even with the few missing elements.

First time I play RE4 was when I was around 14-16 and still in high school. I couldn't play it all the way through because I didn't have a console and instead I would go during the weekends to a friend's house and play for a little bit but never the entire thing. I also played a bit of it when the game came out in Apple Stores, again thanks to a friend who had an iPod. I thought maybe I should try this game out now that I can although I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much... boy was I wrong. Played on hardcore on the first playthrough and I was just amazed and mesmerized by everything, from the gameplay to the visuals of the game. There are definitely some stuff from the original that are hard to replicate nowadays but it's still a game you must experience at least once in your life. Loved every aspect of it from start to end!

• Sentiments

• I was amazed and mesmerized by everything in the game, from the gameplay to the visuals, which made the experience truly enjoyable.
• I loved every aspect of the game from start to end, which shows how much I enjoyed the overall experience.
• I played the game on hardcore difficulty during my first playthrough, which added to the challenge and excitement.
• I initially thought I wouldn't enjoy the game as much, but I was wrong, which highlights how pleasantly surprised I was.
• I believe the game is a must-experience at least once in a lifetime, emphasizing its lasting impact and quality.
• I played the game in bits during my younger years due to not having a console, which reflects a nostalgic connection to the game.
• Some aspects of the original game are hard to replicate nowadays, which acknowledges the game's age but doesn't detract from its value.

Negative

I've played through the game 3 times now on normal, hardcore and on professional. After each playthrough i have started to dislike the game more and more. I'll admit that i enjoyed my first playthrough of the remake because it felt like playing a remixed version of the original but even so i did not like the knife-parry and how it affected the attack patterns of the enemies, they will basically just aimlessly try to bum-rush you. I absolutely did and do HATE how Leon flails around like a sack of potatoes when you move around. I was able to somewhat look past that during the first playthrough because the heavy physics made the impacts feel really good. Or maybe i just really wanted to like the game to justify my purchase. On my second playthrough the game felt more and more like a modern third-person shooter (which it is) with no importance for pacing, crowd control and fighting over screen-space. Only positive i could give for the hardcore difficulty is that the boss-fights had a good balance compared to normal difficulty. On my final, professional difficulty playthrough i was bored out of my mind and yearning for the original RE4's gameplay design. It got extremely tiresome to strafe around bullet-spongy enemies. Professional difficulty adds nothing of importance, they did not re-design the gameplay or enemy patterns around of said difficulty. I'm a big fan of RE2 & RE3 remakes. RE2 remake also had very heavy physics but i could personally justify it since the game is way more slower than RE4. I believe RE3 remake was handled way better than the remake of 4 because the physics were not as heavy and i believe that RE4 remake could benefit from such design as well. Resident Evil 4 remake is dumbed-down, cut and censored. If you haven't played the original you definitely should for the sake of comparison. Will i buy RE5 remake though? Yeah..

Negative

this is a solid remake that serves to coexist with its original game rather than try to replace it and is great if you want to experience RE4 again in a fresh new way. however i cannot recommend it on PC because it has fucking 4 DRMs running at once and crashes every few minutes for me when it used to run flawlessly before they were added

• Sentiments

• I feel that this is a solid remake that coexists well with the original game, offering a fresh way to experience RE4 again.
• I appreciate that the remake does not try to replace the original game but rather complements it.
• I cannot recommend the PC version due to the presence of four DRMs, which significantly impact the experience.
• I am frustrated that the game crashes every few minutes on PC after the DRMs were added, whereas it used to run flawlessly before.

I am really disapointed with RE4R. It feels slugish and the animations seems not completely fine. The game has also a lot of performance issues and requires a powerful rig to play it (a little bit of optimization would have been nice for the people that has mid range rigs, like they did with RE2 and RE3 Remakes). Why they don't simply used the version of the RE engine used on those remakes? It would have been more accessible for the people. Just saying. Also, there are a lot of people that went back to the original RE4 after playing this remake. That means a lot and Capcom should take notice.
4.5 / 10
• I wonder why they didn't simply use the version of the RE engine used on those remakes, as it would have made the game more accessible.
• I notice that a lot of people went back to the original RE4 after playing this remake, which speaks volumes about the remake's quality.
• I think Capcom should take notice of the feedback from players who returned to the original RE4.

58 hours wasted..... gone..... all saved files and progress gone for no fucking reason than this buggy pos game. Fix your damn game. every single play has been filled with crashes, freezing start ups, missing textures, fall through the floor bugs and now this. Holy fuck this game is beyond broken for full price developers should be ashamed it runs this much like trash.

• Sentiments

• I feel extremely frustrated and angry because all my saved files and progress were lost due to a bug in the game.
• I am deeply disappointed with the game's performance, as it has been filled with crashes and freezing issues.
• I am annoyed by the frequent missing textures and fall-through-the-floor bugs that ruin the gameplay experience.

• I am upset that the game's technical problems have wasted 58 hours of my time and effort.

• I feel that the game is beyond broken and does not meet the standards expected for a full-price release.
• I am exasperated by the overall poor quality of the game, which has been a constant source of frustration.

Negative

Edit: it WOULD be a fun remake if you could play it. Don't buy this shit. The fucking scope is HORRIBLE to look through. I spent 8 hours crashing, redoing settings. The default settings are not even built for a human to play. The whole 8 hours of my playtime was actually just being tabbed out on google and youtube trying to figure out what the fuck is up with the low FPS. EVEN THE MAIN MENU IS LOW FPS!! WTF? I even tried turning everything down. Ask anyone about the damn rifle scope... I got to the canyon and I couldn't even get past it because the game would freeze and crash from just seeing 4 buildings and 5 villagers.

• Sentiments

• I find the game unplayable due to constant crashes and poor performance, which ruined my experience.
• I am extremely frustrated with the default settings, which are not user-friendly and make the game difficult to play.
• I spent 8 hours troubleshooting low FPS issues instead of enjoying the game, which was very disappointing.
• I am shocked that even the main menu has low FPS, which reflects poorly on the game's optimization.
• I tried adjusting the settings to improve performance, but it did not resolve the issues, leaving me frustrated.
• I found the rifle scope to be horribly designed and difficult to use, which negatively impacted gameplay.
• I could not progress past the canyon level because the game froze and crashed repeatedly, which was infuriating.
• I had to spend a significant amount of time searching online for solutions, which took away from the gaming experience.
• I believe the game could have been fun if it were playable, but the technical issues make it impossible to enjoy.
• I strongly advise against buying this game due to its numerous technical problems and poor performance.
