Worth it for the stories, play it as a singeplayer RPG. Pretend it's not an MMO, avoid PvP and PvE or really anything endgame related and you'll have a grand old time.
Very good Star Wars game, 8 different, well-written class stories + all the numerous side quests and planet quests. A ton of content for free, and after you've finished everything (which will take you a long time) you can pay once for the subscription to unlock lifetime access to DLC. Go for it if you love Star Wars !

Где русский язык Карл?! На русском языке говорит почти 260 млн человек, это на почти полторы сотни миллионов больше, чем число говорящих на немецком, но при том немецкий таки в игре есть, а в чем проблема сделать хотя бы субтитры?
In 2024 it's not free to play, it's a demo unless you subscribe. Even playing as a "preferred" player is not worth it. - Low credit cap - Reduced XP and valor points starting at level 20 (no rest XP) - Reduced number of crew skills you can have - No dark vs light rewards - Longer quick travel timer - Severely reduced legacy/stronghold bank storage - Can only receive mail - No access to Operations - Cap on number of space missions you can do each week There are more restrictions, I just don't want to put more time into this game than I did uninstalling it.
I was a day 1 player of this game, enjoyed it for nearly 8 years solid and then the last 5 off and on, but the devs had consistently made bad decisions when it came to the endgame; catering to the mega-guilds which made conquest a grind for smaller guilds. The stories for the 8 classes are good, feeling more like a single player RPG than an MMO. However, EA/BioWare has had mistake after mistake and now that it's been handed off to Broadsword Games-A MMO Life Support Company-I have had enough of it myself. I cannot in good faith recommend this game in current year to anyone unless you're a Star Wars fan and you want to grind for over 200 hours to get through all the class stories from 1-50, and past that you only need to do it on one character because there is no difference between the classes. This game was one of my all-time favorites, but after 13 years I have finally called it quits. There are other great games to spend your time and money on.
TLDR: If you have a friend to play with and you like stories, the base story line is still kindy enjoyable. However, the game is old, feels repetitive, unrewarding and slugish. Monetization also goes a bit far in terms of limiting F2P The gameplay is super boring and repetitive as are quest objectives. Most of the time you will spend traversing the area trying to avoid unrewarding and unnecessary encounters with random enemies. And because of how long this game has been around, the community is also not what it used to be. On positive note, if you have a firend to play with or an active guild, some aspects, like base class storylines, are still good.
