The Walking Dead is a gripping five-part adventure horror game set in the same universe as Robert Kirkman’s award-winning comic series. Play as Lee Everett, a convicted criminal seeking redemption in a world overrun by the undead. With a focus on emotional storytelling and impactful choices, the game delivers a tailored experience where your decisions shape the narrative. The AI Community Rating of 89.84% reflects its strengths: a deeply emotional story, memorable characters, and a masterpiece-level experience. Fans praise its ability to evoke strong emotions and recommend it as a must-play for story-driven gamers. However, some critique its simplistic puzzles, dated animations, and the illusion of choice, where decisions often feel less impactful than expected. Despite minor bugs and occasional pacing issues, The Walking Dead remains a standout title for its heart-wrenching narrative and immersive atmosphere. If you love games that prioritize story over action, this is a journey worth taking.

This was a game my wife played. I loved my wife very much, and then she died. I will always associate this game, and the music in the menu, with my beloved wife, who is no longer there. Take care of your loved ones and appreciate what you have.
I first played this game when it was released 12 years ago - loved it then, and love it again with the replay. The story line and game play are great and accessible, particularly for someone whose hand-eye coordination isn't what it used to be :D
The Walking Dead: Season One by Telltale Games is a masterpiece in storytelling that stands out as one of the best narrative-driven games. You play as Lee Everett, a man with a troubled past, who unexpectedly becomes the protector of a young girl named Clementine. The bond between Lee and Clementine is beautifully developed, making each decision feel weighty and personal. The game captures the brutal reality of a world overtaken by zombies, where tough moral choices shape the story in significant ways. The choices and consequences system is outstanding – it makes you question what’s right and wrong, and each decision has emotional weight that stays with you, especially as it impacts the characters around you. The story is intense and emotional, and it manages to balance hope, fear, and loss in a way few games achieve. Although the gameplay is mostly point-and-click with some quick-time events, the real focus is on the characters and story. The graphics have a comic-book art style, paying homage to the original source material, and the soundtrack intensifies every key moment. If you enjoy powerful storytelling and making meaningful choices, The Walking Dead: Season One is a must-play. It’s not just a game; it’s an emotional journey that will leave you thinking long after the credits roll. Rating: 10/10
Well, what can I say about this game? The game is just perfect, everything is worked out down to the smallest things, especially like how the characters are worked out, thank you for such a wonderful game!
I thought it was amazing for its price. But then I realized that it's just a story where the player has almost no influence on anything. I thought it was a fun story, but there are aspects of the game where you go around in circles and do boring activities such as: (a) look for the key (b) choose who to give food to and similar. Depending on our choices something changes. What changes? Well, the options are basically as follows: (a) You changed who dies (b) You changed who likes you. If all my options are wrong (because im basically pointing fingers at which character i want to kill, or which character i want to have personal beef with me). I feel like a perpetual loser, and the plot is too slow to be an enjoyable story. In this respect, it is very reminiscent of the Walking Dead series. An unnecessarily prolonged boring storyline that I couldn't even handle for 10 hours.
It's a telltale game, amazing story, written well and all the rest. But it's still a telltale game. It lacks action, and this game is based only on dialogue choices and decision making. What it lacks in player action it makes up for on story. Felt like a very passive gameplay. Probably many people out there will appreciate this kind of game, but it wasn't that good for me. I felt like I watched a series of cutscenes where sometimes I had to interact, rather than playing a game.
I really didn't want to give this game a negative review, it has 99% positive review and story is good, too. After all, I am a Telltale fan, I love their games, their "The Wolf Among Us" is just one of the greatest games of all time and I always recommend it whenever someone asks for recommendations. But, but not this game, currently I am watching TWD (in the end of S2), and I am in the right mood to play this game, but this just didn't click with me. First of all, it is not as advanced and interactive as TWAU, I understand this is an old game, but again, it is a Telltale game, however there is almost zero interaction and consequences in this game. You save someone, that person dies anyway, you let someone die, they survive. Everytime something trivial happens, you are forced to take someone's side, and you know what? Nothing matters in the end, because the game is predetermined. This wasn't a thing in TWAU, yes, there were some parts of the game that can 't be affected, that is realistic, because life is also like that, you can't change anything, but you can change something which is not possible in this game. So sorry, Telltale, not this time.
This game is a buggy fucking mess, The save system is broke, models don't load all the time, choices you make don't matter because sometimes the game straight up doesn't register the choices you make. Can't save Carley, Doug's fatass spawns in during episode 2. I saved Carley numerous times, Dougs fucking dumbass comes regardless. Broken mess, Don't buy this version.
Good game unfortunately the game was not saving my progress even though it showed auto save icon. I would go back to the game expecting to continue from where I left off and had to restart from another previous part of the game. No manual saves, no skip cutscenes to try to catch up where I left off. I don’t recommend this game
