What the community wishes

Combat mechanics feel outdated
The combat system feels sluggish and unresponsive, with limited actions and superficial interactions. Modernizing combat mechanics would greatly enhance the gameplay experience.
Improve movement responsiveness
Movement in the game feels delayed and clunky, which detracts from the overall experience. Improving responsiveness and fluidity would make exploration and combat more enjoyable.
Add FOV adjustment option
The lack of a field-of-view (FOV) adjustment option is a significant drawback, especially for players who prefer a wider view. Adding this feature would improve accessibility and comfort.
Optimize next-gen update performance
The next-gen update has caused crashes and performance issues for some players, particularly with DLSS enabled. Further optimization and bug fixes are needed to ensure stability.
Enhance difficulty balancing
Lower difficulties make alchemy and monster research trivial, reducing the depth of gameplay. Balancing difficulty settings to maintain challenge across all levels would improve engagement.
Expand Gwent with more content
Gwent is highly praised but could benefit from additional cards, strategies, and modes to keep the minigame fresh and engaging for long-term players.
Improve armor and clothing designs
Many players find the armor and clothing designs underwhelming. Adding more visually appealing and diverse options would enhance customization and player satisfaction.
Address loading screen delays
Loading screens can be lengthy and disrupt immersion. Optimizing load times or adding dynamic loading elements would improve the flow of gameplay.
Add co-op multiplayer mode
A co-op mode would allow players to experience the world of The Witcher 3 together, adding a new layer of replayability and social interaction.
Improve horse racing mechanics
Horse racing is considered boring and unrewarding. Enhancing the mechanics and adding more engaging rewards would make this activity more enjoyable.
Fix minor bugs and glitches
Despite patches, some bugs and glitches persist. Addressing these issues would improve the overall polish and stability of the game.
Add more meaningful choices
While choices exist, some feel inconsequential. Adding more impactful decisions with long-term consequences would deepen the narrative and replayability.
Expand modding support
While modding is supported, further tools and resources for modders could enhance the community-driven content and extend the game's lifespan.
Improve pacing in early game
The early game can feel slow and overwhelming for new players. Streamlining the introduction and pacing would help retain player interest.
Add more monster variety
While the game has a wide range of monsters, adding more unique creatures and behaviors would keep combat encounters fresh and exciting.
Enhance boss fight mechanics
Some boss fights feel repetitive or lack depth. Introducing more varied mechanics and phases would make these encounters more memorable and challenging.
Improve inventory management
Inventory management can be cumbersome. Adding better sorting, filtering, and organization options would streamline the experience.
Add more dynamic weather effects
Dynamic weather effects could enhance immersion. Expanding on this feature with more varied and impactful weather conditions would enrich the world.
Expand romance options
While romance options exist, they are limited. Adding more diverse and meaningful romantic interactions would appeal to a broader audience.
Improve endgame content
The endgame can feel lacking in activities. Adding more post-story content, such as new quests or challenges, would extend the game's longevity.

The story of our life. Sorry we are not here. Beautiful world for beautiful people. Nobody better, never was and never will be. We always want to be another. We were. All of us. Never were good, always were the best. No one is forgotten and nothing is forgotten. Love the cuties today, they will tonight repay. Taste the yummies one day, feel whole life like holiday. Our besties not the beasts. We go until the edge. The edge but never end. Our place, our own old world. We never leave, we never die. Was built until the last, rebuilt for outcast. Will always be eternal.

Positive

Simply one of the greatest CRPGs ever made, Witcher 3 is the game that made Geralt of Rivia famous. There's not much to say about this that hasn't already been said. It's perennially at or near the top of multiple reviewers' "best ever" lists (including mine). Only the gameplay doesn't quite hold up to modern standards; the actual combat is easy and the enemies predictable. Don't expect a soulslike here. It's not a chore to play, but the real draws are the characters and the story. Highly recommended to any fan of role-playing games.

  • Sentiments

    • I believe Witcher 3 is one of the greatest CRPGs ever made, and it has earned its place at the top of many 'best ever' lists, including mine.
    • I think the game's characters and story are its real strengths, making it highly engaging and memorable.
    • I feel the gameplay, particularly the combat, doesn't hold up to modern standards, as it is easy and the enemies are predictable.
    • I don't consider the gameplay a chore, but it is not as challenging or innovative as some modern games.
    • I highly recommend Witcher 3 to any fan of role-playing games, as it offers an exceptional experience despite its gameplay limitations.
    • I acknowledge that Witcher 3 is not a soulslike game, so players should not expect that level of combat difficulty or complexity.
    • I recognize that Geralt of Rivia became famous largely due to this game, which speaks to its cultural and gaming impact.

Getting some really bad experience rn. Played it flawlessly on 1070 in 2019. Right now with 4060 getting crashes non-stop. I'm not sure what happened, some say disable dlss or switch to DX11. But then, what was the whole point of making next gen update if it's not working? I've updated drivers, maybe my gpu is broken but I'm not having issues in other games.

  • Sentiments

    • I am experiencing really bad performance issues with the game right now, which is frustrating compared to how well it ran in the past.
    • I played the game flawlessly on a GTX 1070 in 2019, which was a positive experience at the time.
    • Now, with an RTX 4060, I am getting crashes non-stop, which is extremely disappointing and disruptive.
    • I am unsure what caused the issues, and the lack of clarity is adding to my frustration.
    • Some suggestions, like disabling DLSS or switching to DX11, feel like compromises that shouldn't be necessary.
    • I question the purpose of the next-gen update if it doesn't work properly, which feels like a waste of effort.
    • I have updated my drivers, which shows I am trying to resolve the issue, but it hasn't helped.
    • I am concerned that my GPU might be broken, but I am not experiencing issues in other games, which adds to my confusion.

Negative

I come back to The Witcher 3 every couple of years to replay and enjoy it, this time around I am probably never going to play it again. From trying to steal a Gwent card I can't pick up in a side mission, to mission items not allowing me to pick them up, it is one thing to be a side mission which I can just say meh and do something else, but when a main mission such as "Family Matters" leads me to the stairs with a scent and I can't interact with the steps, verifying game cache does nothing, reloading old saves does nothing. I don't know what CDPR broke in the last 2 years but clearly the game is unplayable and cannot be properly finished, various mods to fix such issues don't work either. Reinstalling did not fix it, verifying did not fix it, got 100 hours in and finally completely locked out of completion. Ah well guess it is a good idea to change my review to a negative. GG CDPR you trolled me good

    • Various mods to fix such issues don't work either, which added to my frustration and sense of hopelessness.
    • Reinstalling the game did not fix the issues, and after 100 hours, I am completely locked out of completion, which is incredibly disheartening.
    • I decided to change my review to a negative one, reflecting my overall dissatisfaction with the current state of the game.

Negative

Such weird, uninteresting and frustrating game design. - Movement is very strange, heavy and clunky and don't get me started on the "combat" coordinated dancing. - The world is completely broken up into small sections that you fast travel in between. Ruins any sense of scale. - You can't sleep or stay in hotels. You have to find a random spot, sit down, and...meditate. - Story is a convoluted slog for anyone not into high fantasy. 16 hours in and I still had no idea who the bad guy was. - Static, dead, non-interactive world with lifeless dead-eyed NPCs. I got this game because it is universally praised, but wow is it not what I thought, nor the quality I was expecting. 3/10

This version is horrible, i try to play it but there is no voice and is unplayable like that, characters move their mouths and stay silent, this is unplayable, is old enough so they had to fix it a long time ago...

Won't launch since the release of the dev kit, if you go into the files and launch the .exe directly it'll start, buuuut you get an annoying black border around your screen and workshop items won't load without crashing the game.
