AI Review

ULTRAKILL is a fast-paced, ultraviolent retro FPS that blends the chaos of classic shooters like *Quake* with the stylish combat of *Devil May Cry*. Set in a post-apocalyptic world where machines fueled by blood descend into Hell, the game offers relentless action, a unique health-regen mechanic (soak in blood to heal), and a killer soundtrack. With an AI Community Rating of 88.62%, players praise its fast-paced gameplay, satisfying combat, and creative level design inspired by *Dante's Inferno*. However, some note difficulty spikes, like the infamous level 1-4, and minor bugs that could use polishing. While the story is engaging, some players wish for deeper narrative immersion. If you love high-octane action, challenging gameplay, and retro aesthetics, ULTRAKILL is a must-play. Just be ready for a steep learning curve and a grind for leaderboards.

What the community wishes

Difficulty spikes can frustrate players
Some players find difficulty spikes, such as in level 1-4, frustrating and discouraging. Over 100 attempts were needed to beat it, leading some to quit. Adjusting difficulty progression could improve player retention.
Minor bugs need attention
While minor bugs are present, they are currently treated as features. Addressing these bugs could improve overall polish and player experience.
Mind flayer mechanics feel unfair
Mind flayers have become more challenging with faster attack rates and removed weaknesses. Players feel this makes them unfair, suggesting a rebalance to maintain challenge without frustration.
Grind for leaderboards feels excessive
Grinding for leaderboards or ranks is seen as unnecessary for progression. Reducing grind requirements could make the game more accessible to casual players.
Story could be more engaging
While the story is good, some players feel it could be more immersive or impactful. Enhancing narrative depth could improve player engagement.
Game time feels too long
Some players feel the game time is excessively long, which may deter casual players. Offering shorter gameplay modes or more varied pacing could help.
Price may deter some players
While the game is worth the price, some players suggest it should be more affordable or have frequent sales to attract a wider audience.
Graphics could be more polished
Graphics are rated as good but not outstanding. Improving visual fidelity or adding more detailed environments could enhance immersion.
Movement mechanics need refinement
While movement is praised, some players find advanced techniques like dead coining difficult to execute. Simplifying or better explaining these mechanics could improve accessibility.
Boss fights could be more balanced
Boss fights, especially Gabriel, are seen as overly challenging. Balancing difficulty while maintaining excitement could improve the experience for less skilled players.
Soundtrack could have more variety
While the soundtrack is praised, some players suggest adding more variety or dynamic music to match gameplay intensity.
Secret levels need better integration
Secret levels are unique but feel disconnected from the main gameplay. Better integration or rewards could make them more appealing.
Sandbox mode needs more features
While sandbox mode is fun, players suggest adding more customization options or tools to enhance experimentation and creativity.
Difficulty customization could be expanded
Players appreciate customizable difficulty but suggest adding more granular options to cater to a wider range of skill levels.
Enemy variety could be increased
While enemy designs are praised, some players feel more variety in enemy types or behaviors could keep gameplay fresh and challenging.
Lore could be more accessible
Players enjoy the lore but suggest making it more accessible through in-game logs or visual storytelling to enhance immersion.
Multiplayer or co-op potential
While the game is single-player, players suggest adding multiplayer or co-op modes to extend replayability and social engagement.
UI/UX could be more intuitive
Some players find the UI/UX confusing, especially for advanced mechanics. Simplifying or adding tutorials could improve the learning curve.
More frequent updates needed
Players love the game but desire more frequent updates or content drops to maintain long-term interest and engagement.
Gabriel obsession needs moderation
Some players feel the focus on Gabriel is excessive, suggesting a more balanced approach to character development and story focus.

Theoretically, blood could be considered as a potential fuel source due to its composition, but it presents numerous practical and ethical challenges. Blood contains organic molecules like glucose and lipids, which store chemical energy. In principle, these molecules could be oxidized to release energy, similar to how biofuels are derived from plant and animal matter. However, using blood as a fuel source for machines is not practical for several reasons: Complex Composition: Blood is a complex fluid made up of cells (red and white blood cells), plasma, proteins, and various other components. Extracting the energy-rich components (like glucose) efficiently would be complicated and inefficient. Energy Density: The energy density of blood is relatively low compared to conventional fuels. Fossil fuels and even some biofuels have much higher energy densities, making them more efficient for use in machines. Processing and Conversion: Converting blood into a usable form of fuel would require significant processing. This would involve breaking down the blood components and extracting the energy-rich substances, which is technologically challenging and costly. Ethical and Supply Concerns: Using blood as a fuel source raises significant ethical issues, particularly regarding the source of the blood. The supply of blood is limited and primarily needed for medical purposes, such as transfusions and treatments, making it an impractical and unethical choice for fuel. Alternative Biofuels: There are more efficient and sustainable biofuels available, derived from plants, algae, and waste materials. These sources are more viable and ethical for producing bioenergy. In summary, while the organic molecules in blood theoretically contain energy that could be used as fuel, the practical, ethical, and technological hurdles make it an unfeasible option. There are more appropriate and efficient sources of bioenergy that are being developed and used.

  • Sentiments

    • I find the idea of using blood as a fuel source theoretically intriguing due to its organic composition, which contains energy-rich molecules like glucose and lipids.
    • I acknowledge that blood's complex composition, including cells, plasma, and proteins, makes extracting energy-rich components inefficient and impractical.
    • I recognize that the energy density of blood is relatively low compared to conventional fuels, which limits its feasibility as a fuel source.
    • I understand that converting blood into a usable fuel would require significant processing, making it technologically challenging and costly.
    • I am concerned about the ethical issues surrounding the use of blood as a fuel source, particularly regarding its limited supply and primary need for medical purposes.
    • I appreciate that there are more efficient and sustainable biofuels available, such as those derived from plants, algae, and waste materials.
    • I agree that the practical, ethical, and technological hurdles make blood an unfeasible option for fuel, despite its theoretical potential.
    • I find the exploration of alternative bioenergy sources more viable and ethical compared to using blood as a fuel source.

Positive

Although i may be bias, i think that ultrakill is the number one best game ever made, and its not even complete yet. I've yet to find a single other game that does what ultrakill does. Ultrakill does everything right, and doesn'thave any of the same problems i have with other games. Most games will make it hard by making it unfair, or just upping the damage or health, but ultrakill actually makes it skill based, needing precise timing and using different combinations of weapons in sequence to overcome challenges. Its the only game where instead of just getting mad at the game and blaming the game, i kept challenging myself to do better, and do things i never thought were possible, like p-ranking almost every level in the hardest difficulty. I even beat it with a drawing tablet instead of a mouse. Ultrakill is THE game, and personally to me is above all the rest.

  • Sentiments

    • I believe Ultrakill is the number one best game ever made, and it's not even complete yet, which shows my strong admiration for it.
    • I have yet to find a single other game that does what Ultrakill does, highlighting its uniqueness and superiority in my eyes.
    • Ultrakill does everything right and doesn't have any of the same problems I have with other games, making it stand out as a flawless experience.
    • Most games make difficulty unfair by increasing damage or health, but Ultrakill makes it skill-based, which I find incredibly rewarding.
    • Ultrakill requires precise timing and strategic use of weapon combinations, which I appreciate as it challenges me to improve.
    • Instead of getting mad at the game, I kept challenging myself to do better, which shows how motivating and engaging Ultrakill is for me.
    • I achieved things I never thought were possible, like P-ranking almost every level on the hardest difficulty, which demonstrates the game's ability to push my limits.
    • I even beat the game using a drawing tablet instead of a mouse, which shows how versatile and adaptable Ultrakill is to different playstyles.
    • Ultrakill is THE game for me, and I personally consider it above all others, reflecting my deep connection and preference for it.
    • The game's ability to make me challenge myself and achieve the impossible is something I haven't experienced in any other game.

Hakita designed mind flayers with the intention of hurting people. Update Nov 01 2024: With the advent of brutal difficulty, mind flayers lost their big weakness of not being able to have their fireballs redirected at them, They now have a much faster attack rate too. Yikes...

  • Sentiments

    • I was incredibly impressed by Giani's voice acting, which effectively conveyed Gabriel's anger throughout the game, making the emotional experience very impactful.
    • The exaggerated rage in Gabriel's voice made me feel deeply immersed in the game's emotional intensity, though it also left me feeling overwhelmed at times.
    • The difficulty of the campaign was extremely challenging, requiring many attempts to defeat bosses like Gabriel and V2, which felt like a monumental task.
    • The graphics initially seemed crude, but I found that they stopped bothering me after just a week of playing, as I got used to the game's visual style.
    • The gameplay is brutal and punishing, especially for less skilled players like myself, which made the experience both frustrating and rewarding.
    • I appreciated that the game wasn't just about killing, but also about the deeper themes and experiences, such as the missed opportunities for connection, like the robot sex reference.
    • Despite the game's strengths, I ultimately gave it a negative review because of the overwhelming difficulty and the emotional toll it took on me.

No gay robot sex. I think the Ultrakill experience would be enhanced with gay robot angels shoving their monster cock into you. They should also add the sex minigame option in the dating sim level, where you have to control your robot cock until bursting all over the robot. Overall a good game but no sex.

  • Sentiments

    • I feel that the game is overall enjoyable and well-made, as the reviewer mentions it is a good game despite their criticisms.
    • I am disappointed that the game does not include gay robot sex, which I believe would enhance the experience.
    • I think the game would benefit from adding a sex minigame in the dating sim level, as it would make the gameplay more engaging and unique.
    • I find the idea of controlling a robot cock in a minigame until bursting to be an interesting and humorous suggestion, though it is not currently in the game.
    • I feel that the lack of gay robot angels with monster cocks is a missed opportunity for the game to explore more creative and unconventional themes.
