In-depth analysis of most impactful community reviews

Positive

Valheim.

  • Sentiments

    • The game has become my favorite survival game, despite not having achievements.
    • It has more than enough content to pay for what it's worth.
    • The game is perfect for people who like to explore.
    • It's a game that can be played solo, but it's much more enjoyable with friends.
    • The game encourages exploration and discovery.
    • The game has a clear progression, but this feeling of lack of progression can make you quit playing.
    • The lack of achievements is a drawback.

I was banned from their reddit for criticizing their slow development speed and I will just post my frustration here instead. The Devs have literally taken the Lazy route and destroyed their own roadmap in order to make the updates less available and seem like they are more substantial than they really are. I have been a supporter of this game since day 1 and have witnessed firsthand what happens to an early access title like Valheim when it reaches critical success in Early Access. The devs had a roadmap set for the original plan for this game, but when they realized the goldmine they created they instantly destroyed said roadmap, and brainwashed players to expect even more expansive updates meanstwhile providing the bare minimum every 24 months if you are lucky. I have grown from loving this game to understanding that the devs have taken advantage of the playerbase and have decided to expliot their patience and provide the bare minimum while depending on modders to develop the rest of that game instead of uising resources they gained during the initial success of Valheim. aka. FUCK OFF

Just go and read all the comments on the update posts for this game, when 80% of comments are negative based on lack of commitment or any worthwhile update to the game in years. No this game is a joke and so are these developers. Had a roadmap for the game 3-4 years ago saying within a year it would be completed, I get things happen but...3-4 years later and you haven't even come close to finishing your original abandoned roadmap. That only speaks volume about these sad devs. They are literally doing nothing....except paying others to make a board game based off an unfinished video game, let that sink in if you want more proof as to how utterly inept these devs are.

Negative

The game became unplayable with Mistlands and unbearable with ashlands. The feeling of progression is completly lost and instead of discovering new areas and dungeons you run blindly through mountains in mistlands or away from 100s of enemys in ashlands. I don't know what happened to the original devs, because i refuse to believe these are the same people that designed the first released bioms.

  • Sentiments

    • The game's progression is no longer enjoyable due to the new content.
    • The feeling of discovery is lost due to the new areas and dungeons.
    • The new bioms are difficult to navigate and are full of enemies.
    • I don't want to play the game anymore due to the new content.
    • I miss the original devs and the game's original design.
    • The game has become unplayable due to the new content.
