All of the mind games and strategy of fighting games, with none of the twitch reflexes or fine mechanical movements. Other reviews have compared it to chess, and I cannot overstate how accurate the comparison is. Not only because of the strategy, mind you, but also because it's easy to pick up, but very hard to master. The fact that you can preview every move, even your opponent's moves, does a lot of work towards letting that be the case. Finally, it's dirt cheap and the replays look like super cool stick figure flash animations.
Very fun game, very strategic but not like other strat games. It has a chess type strategy thing but its super fun, like chess but you add dragonball fights to it. Seeing the fight at the end is also very satisfying. (i wrote this while getting gluck gluck from a cambodian boy in my year 11 headstart physics class)
This game is so good, like no glaze but I love how easy it is to download the mods and stuff. I especially like recreating fights that never happened in shows. And even some of the oringinal characters are good too. I would recommend downloading this game. It worth the time and effort put into it.
some dude (my friend) comboed me from full hp to 0 hp with a base character while i had a modded character. i am not good at this game. despite that, i had fun getting beat down so hard that i forgot how to play irl. fun game. buy.
If you're going to get into this game, know that this is a fundamentally communal experience. If you don't already have a group of friends who are into the game, the new player experience is going to be actively hostile; no Singleplayer (the "Singleplayer" option in the lab menu has no AI and would be better called a sandbox/training mode), no tutorial explaining the (very large) moveset of the various characters, nothing. The five characters are apparently really complex and nuanced; I'm going off reputation here because I don't feel comfortable doing my own matchmaking and getting pubstomped by expert level players (did I mention there's no matchmaking?). Yeah, if you're not getting this on the advice of a friend who will be patient with you while you learn, don't bother. And if you are, why are you reading reviews?
I really wanted to give this game a chance. The concept of tactic fighting game is so innovative. However, the lack of a tutorial and the poorly readable UI discouraged me from delving into this game. I also had an unpleasant experience with multiplayer. If you want to click "Lock in" every turn because you are unable to make any move during the combo of a more experienced opponent, I recommend it. Despite that the price is worth to try it and I believe that the game may appeal to a certain group of people, but it simply did not meet my expectations
If you want a cool looking battle sim, go for it. If you actually want a fighting game, it's extremely bloated, poorly balanced, un-interactive and un-fun is neutral, disadvantage, and advantage, and its extremely slow. Don't play it.
got old real fast and the game doesn't really feel any different from when it released. it even got less fun to play over time because of bad balancing and little to no improvements to the game from release.
with hindsight this game started the slippery slope of game balancing when magnetize was getting its reworks first big sign was the block rework then robot getting more movement than ninja i main ninja and i want magnetize back it was so fun the reads you could pull off and the replays were so sick
